Walked five miles the evening after treatment! I am an Registered Nurse and work in a strictly allopathic specialty. Luckily, though, I am open to anything to help me with my chronic pain after a serious car accident and subsequent, serious C-spine surgery. I have been seeing Julie since the beginning of 2010 and just love the experience - it's like a weekly spa treatment. I leave there so relaxed and rejuvenated. It's so easy to get in and out of the office, and easily fits into my hectic schedule.

I am a retired RN and started having bowel irritability about 20 years ago. It has accelerated to a point where I could not control my bowels, and worse, not have any time to accomodate them. I was started on an oral medication which seem to, for a while, to give me more of a normal life. In the last 5 years the medication became ineffective and consequently it became necessary to retire and go on disability. I had lost 40lbs due to poor appetite and loss of intestinal absorption abilities. Needing stronger medicine, my GI doc started me an IV regimen which lasted for one year with no remarkable change. Then another med, which is given subcutaneously, was started and some relief was noted. I had a little more control of my bowels combined with anti-diarrhea pills - x6 a day. Throughout this time I had multiple bowel exams showing progressive increase in tissue irritation, inflammation and discoloration. The I decided to give acupuncture a try. I had always had an interest in alternative medicine and had read up, esp. acupuncture, on it and found it still hard to believe in it. I found myself under Julie's care since April of this year (2012). Immediately, I started gaining weight. Then about a month later I was needing only 3 anti-diarrhea pills and having 4 to 6bms/day instead of the 15 to 20. I kept getting treatment x2/week and at the end of August had another bowel exam. The difference was incredible! I saw pink tissue with mild areas of inflammation and no discoloration. I don't have the biopsy reports back yet but I expect good news since the previous reports have always been negative results. By the way, I am down to 2 to 3 bms and 1 anti-diarrhea med/day. My GI doc agreed that my gut did look better but did not give any credence to acupuncture. His recommendation has always been to have my colon removed and end with a colostomy!! I knew that was not an option for me. So, for now I will stick with Julie and her needles. I hope to stop the subcu injections eventually and continue to help my body heal itself. I just wish I would have started with acupuncture years back!

Hi Julie,

Just wanted to let you know that I welcomed my very healthy baby boy on Sunday March 4, 2012! He weighed 7 lbs and 14 oz and was 19 3/4" long. He is doing super well and *W* and I are totally in love :).

I was very happy to go into labor naturally on Saturday night. I did end up having to get pitocin because things weren't progressing (he was "sunny side up"), but over all, labor went really well and I was pleasantly surprised at how (relatively) easy things were.

Thank you so much for all of your help and encouragement! I'm so grateful to have found you. I can contribute much of my healthy and easy pregnancy and delivery to you!

**Julie's Note** - This mama started getting acupuncture right after a miscarriage. We got her cycles regulated and then she conceived easily. She received consistent treatment throughout the first trimester to help prevent another miscarriage and deal with general pregnancy symptoms. At 36 weeks she started the Pre-Birth Acupuncture Protocol weekly and at 41 weeks utilized acupuncture labor induction to prevent a scheduled medical induction. I've been getting treatments at Auburn Community Acupuncture once or twice a week for about three months now. I presented Julie with a variety of health complaints including tiredness, anxiety, insomnia, PMS, and a painful breast cyst. In just a few short months all of these conditions have improved tremendously. Prior to beginning Julie's acupuncture treatments and herbs I took Ibuprofen for up to four days straight for painful menstrual cramps. Now I don't have to take it at all. Going to see Julie Ormonde at the Rowan Clinic for Women is one of the best decisions I ever made.
My husband and I who are in our early 30's had been trying to conceive naturally for about a year with no luck. I was pretty upset and had a hard time accepting the inevitable that I may need some help if we were to have a child on our own. I spoke to a patient at the Chiropractic Clinic I work at about her experiences with acupuncture and fertility that she was receiving and gave me the gook "The Infertility Cure". After reading it, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture made a lot of sense. I also knew I wouldn't try anything that interfered with my body's natural processes and if I couldn't conceive naturally then I wouldn't conceive at all. So I decided to give Julie a call and set up my initial evaluation.

Upon my evaluation with Julie, she noted some imbalances and encouraged me to start a chart of my basal body temperature's every morning. I started seeing her between two to three times a week for the first two months and I started with TCM tinctures due to cost and decided after a month or so I decided time was wasting and that I would switch to TCM granules for hopefully quicker results. My body responded well to Julie's treatments and food recommendations and I started seeing and feeling the results. I decreased my treatment frequency to once to twice a week at that point and eventually stabilized to once a week. Julie stayed positive and helped encourage me to keep the hope alive that we would be able to conceive and felt that with my condition I should see some positive results of our hard work within the first six months of my first appointment. To my amazement I became pregnant six months after treating with Julie... I was both excited and scared at that point. Julie continued to treat me to ensure that my body stayed in balance in the critical first weeks...at 12 weeks, Mothers Day, my husband and I were able to share the long awaited news that we were expecting!

I feel like I received great proof as far as how TCM and acupuncture had helped my fertility cycle. Julie has not only just treated me for my fertility issues but has also helped me with knee pain, headaches, cold/flu symptoms, morning sickenss and heart burn all with great results! I loved everything about community acupuncture and I always felt very relaxed and comfortable during my treatments and as a bonus Julie is also a great "needler" with zero to minimal discomfort with her acupuncture treatments. I started going to the Rowan Clinic for Women about a year after my husband and I had been trying to become pregnant (infertility). My cycles were unpredictable to the point that I could go anywhere from 27 days to 65 days between periods. A friend recommended I try acupuncture to help regulate my cycles. I thought she was crazy especially since I was deathly afraid of needles. I started to give it some thought and even my doctor said it wasn't a bad idea. I found the clinic online and was excited about the sliding scale payment options so I gave Julie a call.

I was extremely nervous at my first visit. I sat there stiff as a board not really getting comfortable at all. Julie was great though and she did her best to make me comfortable and explain what was going on. About the third time I visited I had a headache and Julie was able to get rid of it in about 10 minutes. I was hooked, and I started going to Julie once or twice a week after that. She worked with me to chart my temperatures and other girly stuff to find out when I was the most fertile. After about 3 months my cycle became more regular. I followed Julie's instructions and advice and I'm happy to say we are due July 2008. She was as excited as I was to learn the good news. Julie was a great support system through it all. My doctor thought it would be a good idea to have them biopsied, since thyroid issues run in my family. However, I wanted to try to avoid that. I had hypothyroid twelve years ago, and was helped by acupuncture then, so I wanted to try it again. For three months, Julie treated me with acupuncture and herbs. I noticed the swelling disappear, and the sensations in my throat became very infrequent. Three months later, a repeat ultrasound showed the nodules to be smaller and no longer appearing solid, as if they were dissolving, even though the specialist didn't that woulld be likely. I didn't have to do a biopsy, and I'm well on my way to great health once again!

I went to see Julie the first time on August 11th because I was having trouble sleeping. We started talking and she asked about my kidney stones. I had lithotripsy (sound waves used to break up kidney stones) on July 27, 2007. The lithotripsy did break up the stones, but they wouldn't pass on their own and the Urologist wanted to perform another surgery to remove the remaining stone fragments. I spoke with Julie about not wanting to have another surgery. There had been no movement of any significance for two weeks. On Wednesday August 15th, Julie gave me what she referred to as an "intense" treatment for kidney stones. That night about 9:00pm, I started experiencing pain near the right kidney. I took some pain medication about 1:00am. The next morning around 7:30, the pain was back. I ended up taking more pain medication about 10:20am. Around 11:30, I was nauseous and dizzy, so I went home to take a nap. I woke up around 1:00pm and passed 3 stones. About 2 hours later, I passed 5 more stones. The next morning (Friday) I went in for a CT Scan (which was scheduled because of the pain) and the results came back that I was kidney stone free. There were absolutely no stones. The timing of all of this is just too bizarre not to credit Julie's treatment with getting the stones to pass out of my body. Thank you Julie!

I have been seeing her for acupuncture about a month now. We first met in our childbirth classes three years ago. I can't tell you all how much Julie has improved my sinuses. I have some sort of nasal congestion that no one seems to be able to diagnose. After each visit I can breathe a little better. Julie is very soothing and knowledgable on the practice. Not only do I feel better physically, but mentally as well. It's like getting a massage only better. So, even if you don't have a physical "ailment" it's great just for a quick pick me up, plus you get to chit chat !!! I would highly recommend her.

We just came back from an appointment with Julie Ormonde for our six-month-old Lily and (as it turned out) for me; Julie is wonderful.
